Cllr Lindsey Hall was delighted to attend the recently revived Ward Panel Meeting of the Abbey Road Safer Neighbourhood Team led by our wonderful local PC Oliver Snapes together with colleague PC Daniel Dadoun. Prime Minister Boris Johnson's pledge to increase our police numbers is happily coming to fruition with the permanent expansion of our Abbey Road team which also includes PCSO Adem Tanrikulu serving under Sergeant Darren Bull and Inspector Finbar King.
Whilst the Abbey Road Ward happily remains one the safest places to live in London with uniquely low crime statistics; any crime is one too many and of course when it happens locally, we feel it.
With more local visibility resulting from a change in Safer Neighbourhood Team shift patterns to provide extended cover into the evenings and more back-up from the hundreds of new recruits to the Met, we have a great blueprint to reduce and crack down on future crime with faster response times and greater numbers of police to tackle crime across the City.
We all have a role to play as the eyes and ears of our community. Any crimes or suspicions should be reported on the 999 emergency number or on the Met's website, not on social media. The Safer Neighbourhood Team can be contacted on (non emergency) telephone 020 7321 7963 or by email.
Future promises from our Safer Neighbourhood Team include ongoing patrols throughout the Ward including more evening patrols and tackling pedal cyclists committing offences such as riding on pavements and jumping red lights etc.
