There has been a recent spate of burglaries in Bayswater. Over August and September there were 23 reported burglaries in our area. Cllr Richard Holloway attended the recent Ward Crime Panel, where the police shared news that six burglars had been apprehended, including one after chase involving helicopter support! Burglary was set as the top priority for the ward. We're also working with developers who are putting up scaffolding to make sure it's alarmed and protected, to prevent people from gaining easy access to homes nearby.
We do urge you to report any crime that is happening near you to via 101 if it's not urgent or 999 if it is an emergency. Please also report attempts at entry. One of the issues discussed at the panel was if a criminal tries to kick in a door, but is unsuccessful, it isn't reported. It might not seem like it matters, but if we don't report the little things, Bayswater Ward gets fewer policing resources as a result.
