Silver Sunday 2018 officially began in Pimlico on 5th October. Cllrs Christabel Flight and Jacqui Wilkinson joined Westminster's Lord Mayor, Cllr Lindsey Hall, the choir of St Barnabas Primary School and dancers from the Chelsea Ballet in entertaining local elderly residents in Dryburgh Hall, Alderney Street.
Cllr Flight then joined the Lord Mayor and Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services Cllr Heather Acton to visit seven care homes across Westminster.
Commenting after the event, Cllr Flight said: “Once again it was marvellous to see so many wonderful events to celebrate our older people. The ballet dancers were spectacular. On Saturday the Music Library once again put on its 70 Years of Music Making workshop which is always well attended.”
There were 1000 Silver Sunday events throughout the country.
