Fly tipping has been one of the biggest issues we have faced in Bayswater and local Councillors Richard Elcho and Emily Payne have unrelentingly lobbied the council on behalf of local people.
We are pleased to announce that Bayswater will be the target of a sustained campaign to address this issue. From early December the Westminster Street Waste Action Team (SWAT) has been focused on Bayswater gathering data and identifying the perpetrators and patterns for dumping. To help us identify the problem hotspots and prioritise areas please email us.
Starting this month we will be launching an information campaign, accompanied by council officers going door-to-door to speak to residents and hosting several street awareness campaigns. We will bring in an additional six inspectors to join SWAT on the streets of Bayswater to educate and penalise offenders. We will supplement these efforts with CCTV.
In addition, we will be reviewing the number of street recycling collections per week and our ability to penalise for a first offence. We will be looking to work with local estate agents to include an information pack for new residents moving into the area to ensure our efforts are sustainable.
We are proud of our neighbourhood, and we are committed to eradicating fly tipping.
