A number of residents have raised concerns over the threatened closure of our Post Office on Circus Rd, concerns that we Abbey Road Ward Councillors also share. For several months now we have been waiting for a decision from Royal Mail about the future of this valued community service as we understand there are long-term issues of viability that need to be assessed along with many other Post Offices facing review across the country.
For now we wish to assure residents that we have been and continue to work closely with senior colleagues at City Hall in their on-going discussions with the Royal Mail - as reported locally following an interview with Cllr Peter Freeman - and will continue to do all in our power to try to keep this important local facility.
In the meantime the Post Office will continue to operate as normal while the best possible outcome is sought.
