Demolition of a major building on the Wellington Road started in January following planning consent to erect a new six storey containing 36 units with car and cycling parking at basement level and new landscaping. The frontage is to be both on the Wellington Road and Cochrane Street.
The site is challenging given its close proximity to a number of residential blocks on both streets. Your local Councillors have been working with the contractor and Officers to ensure a robust construction management plan is in place as well as helping set up a series of Community Liaison meetings to enable residents affected to be provided with regular updates and an opportunity to give feedback on issues during the construction.
