WORKING FOR A CLEANER, GREENER, HEALTHIER CITY
Pledge: We will maintain at least twice weekly rubbish collections.
We are committed to maintaining at least twice-weekly waste collections, unlike our neighbouring Labour-run boroughs, which have cut their rubbish collections.
Pledge: We will continue our regular street-cleaning programme. We will continue our regular street-cleaning programme so that the streets of Westminster do not fall into the same poor state as neighbouring Labour-run Brent.
Pledge: We will continue to combat fly-tipping.
Fly-tipping has fallen year on year in Westminster since 2013, unlike the rest of the UK.
There is more work to be done in order to clamp down further on the hot spots.
Your Conservative-led Council has formed a new Street Waste Action Team (SWAT), to tackle local problems of rubbish dumping and fly-tipping, as well as revitalised the ‘Report it’ service on its website.
We are holding the worst offenders to account and have issued more flytipping notices than any other London borough, sending a clear message to the perpetrators: If you fly-tip, you will be caught and you will be punished.
